The National Certification Exam

We've got you covered...

The 700-hour Somatic Bodywork and Massage Therapist Program offered at ASM not only provides you with all of the requirements for eligibility to take the National Certification Exam – we specifically prepare you for the test.

When researching massage schools, ask them if they have reviewed the most current requirements and subject breakdown, and if their classes specifically address those needs. It is possible that a school meets the "requirements" but does not specifically cover the necessary material. Our goal is to help you pass the Exam.

National Certification required or accepted in all but 6 states.

Currently, massage certification is regulated on a county-by-county basis in California. In most counties in California, the current requirement is 100-hours from a State Approved Vocational School. Our approach is to prepare you for the future, and to keep up with the industry-wide standards.  At ASM, we feel that 100-hours barely scratches the surface of the vast art of massage. The 100-hour requirement in most counties in California is misleading to aspiring professional therapists, because when you enter into the competitive market place, you encounter therapists who have real, in-depth training, and employers who usually require at least 500 hours of training. The practical reality is that you need more that 100 hours to succeed.
